I am the grandmother of an 11 year old deaf child; we live in Guyana South America where there are no schools with really qualified teachers for the deaf. I am looking for a residential school in USA that would accept her as a student.

So far, About.com readers have advised her that she should investigate private schools, and one reader also suggested that she look into hiring someone to teach her granddaughter and other deaf children in Guyana. In effect, starting her own school.
Does anyone have any further advice for Sabinemac?
