Kaylee McIntosh's death was described as a tragedy
A memorial for a teenage Army cadet who died in a boating accident has been held in Aberdeenshire.

Kaylee McIntosh, 14, from Fyvie, died during an exercise in South Uist in the Western Isles last August.

Kaylee was among a group of eight cadets and four adults on the boat when the accident happened.

The memorial service took place in Fyvie Church. Kaylee's parents Derek and Lesley invited friends, relatives and army cadet reprentatives.

A report into the accident which claimed Kaylee's life has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.

It is expected her death will be the subject of a fatal accident inquiry.

She was a member of the 2nd Battalion Highlanders Army Cadet Force.

Hundreds of mourners attended her funeral last year.

Defence Secretary Des Browne described her death as a "terrible and tragic incident".
