Kaylee McIntosh
Kaylee McIntosh died when a training exercise went wrong
A memorial service for a teenage Army cadet who died in a boating accident is to be held on Saturday.

Kaylee McIntosh, 14, from Fyvie in Aberdeenshire, died during an exercise in South Uist last August.

The memorial service will take place in Fyvie Church on Saturday at 1400 GMT. Kaylee's parents Derek and Lesley have invited all who knew her to attend.

A report into the accident which claimed Kaylee's life has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Inquiry expected

Hundreds of mourners attended her funeral last year.

It is expected her death will be the subject of a fatal accident inquiry.

Kaylee was a member of the 2nd Battalion Highlanders Army Cadet Force.

She was among a group of eight cadets and four adults on the boat.

Her death was described as a "terrible and tragic incident" by Defence Secretary Des Browne.
