I loved Earth 2. I thought it got canceled halfway through the season so I didn't even know there were more episodes. Awesome. I've always wondered what happened to the crew of Earth 2.
This was my first time listening to the Geekdads podcast, and I loved it - I've finally found my tribe!
K'nex are indeed a wonderful thing. My 12-year-old (who turns 13 later this month) has been a huge K'nex fan for years. To test the structural strength of K'nex, he made a 10-inch cube which was capable of supporting at least 100 kg (he never tested it to failure, but it was fine with that weight). His current project - in the works for over a year now - is to build a robot to carry his laundry from his bedroom to the laundry chute. He's got a basically functional robot, but he's revising and re-revising the navigation system - light sensors didn't work to his liking, so he's decided to so with a scripted system.
