A BABY whose parents are both GPs, was born in a bath just yards from a maternity hospital.
Nicola, 34, and Peter Murchie, 37, had planned their route to hospital, but Ava Lavinia came into the world when her mother was bathing at their home in Aberdeen.

Peter ran to the bathroom when he heard his wife shouting, but by the time he got there, their baby was almost born. An ambulance crew arrived in time to help the couple deliver their baby.

Nicola said yesterday: "It all happened very quickly. I had no twinges at all, I just went into the bath, then into labour.

"All of a sudden, my waters broke and I had to shout on Peter for help.

We had planned to make the trip to hospital by car, but didn't make it. It was really embarrassing because we live only five minutes away."

Peter said: "Nicola got in the bath then started shouting 'The baby is about here'.

"But she can be a bit dramatic sometimes, so I didn't panic.

"It must be rare two doctors being caught unawares having a home birth."

My only hope is that my DYW will do the same when our time comes,

How Lovely, a Brilliant Natural,..'Home Birth'!

BTW, my wife is always "dramatic", no-wonder some say I am 'Nuts'! :D

Its the effect she has on me!

This Story also proves all my controversial comments on,...
'Health Issues' in this Paper,

The "Doctors" are NOT Gods! and Don't always get it Right!

Charles @1

Of course we doctors are "NOT GODS" we are "mere mortals made of flesh and bones" and are accountable to the "almighty himself"

unlike of course our "masters" in westminster, who it seems are "above all" and "unaccountable to no one"

Dr JS ~2,

The sad fact is though, a vast majority of people believe doctors can do on wrong, but on occasion when things do go wrong, these people turn around and actually start blaming the Doctors, they belive in.

#2 Dr JS, your not accountable to the almighty, your accountable to your patients.
And the masters in Westminster are accountable to the electorate, albeit only every 4-5 years.

Dr JS, seeing as you are based in Aberdeen, Westminster has nothing to do with health in Scotland. Health is a devolved matter. Scary that you should be so out of touch.

I wish you and your wife well in your pursuit of a family.

Please excuse some unsolicited advice. From your posts I "hear" that you and your DYW perhaps are closing in on despair and not having been blessed yet.

May I suggest you take a weekend and go on a short holiday? Promise yourselves you will leave your concerns of procreation at home and on the steps of whatever deity you subscribe to.

Have a wonderful time re-experiencing each other and loving each other without the stress of "is this the right time?". Who knows? Perhaps without the stress it will be.

Blessings to you both.

adsullata ~6,

Thankyou for your thoughts and advice, to which Ive heard does wonders for couples wanting to conceive.

Sometimes just 'getting away' from it all seems a good idea, Its the 'getting round to it' that is difficult at times.

I never disregard the powers of Nature and always remind my DYW, it could 'Happen' by itself in-between any IVF help we are receiving, she is more 'negative' in this aspect though! saying,...

"NO IT WONT" or, "MAYBE I'm NOT MEANT TO EVER HAVE A BABY"

But Like the "Doctors" in this Story, you just don't Know what Nature has, lined-up to take place for you!

Thanks again, hope we catch-up soon.

C Linskaill.

I understand the time issue completely.

One might argue that the issue warrants the making of time over the managing of it.

Either way it sounds like your DYW(and perhaps you too) could use a little alone time, be it away from everything and everyone or a weekend tucked in bed at home with the phone unplugged, rose petals in the bath and dinner delivery boxes on the floor.

With your permission I would like to put you and your DYW in my prayer box.

Best to you both.
