Aussie game charts: June 16-22

Konami's hit PS3 game remains king of the charts down under.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots has spent its second consecutive week at the top of the Australian game charts, according to data trackers GfK Australia. The game, which was released in Australia on June 12, sees Solid Snake go on his final mission as he attempts to stop Liquid Snake and uncover the truth about the Patriots.

MGS4 wasn't the only one to stand firm from last week, with the Wii Play/Wii Remote bundle remaining in second spot for the week of June 16-June 22. The Pokemon Mystery Dungeon duo--Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time--have taken out both the third and fourth positions, respectively. Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures on the PlayStation 2 slipped down a spot to number five, whereas the PlayStation 3 version of Grand Theft Auto IV moved up into number six. Crossword DS for the Nintendo DS can be found in seventh place, and the Xbox 360 version of GTAIV is in at number eight. Wii Fit has fallen again to number nine, and last but not least is Grid, which can be found at number 10.

It's not surprising to see a game like MGS4 at top spot still. What an amazing game it is!

Good to see MGS4 is at the top. GOTY is almost a certainty.
BTW, we still seem to love Sims 2 for PC. What's up with that?

Maybe you should read the title... Australian charts, not US. Brawl was only released yesterday. GameSpot AU users should be the only ones that see Australian related news, as there's always Americans that come in and have no idea what they're talking about.

should wiiplay bundle actually be counted? technically it comes free with the wiimote not the other way around as opposed to the other bundles. if so then wii sports should be counted as well. but meh whatever....

As people buy consoles for MGS4, they're buying games like GTA IV on it as well....nice.

Also, NG2 bombed pretty bad it seems....

slimdavy55, your comment is the greatest comment read to date. LOL, PS3 at the top. Everything is returning back to normal. I agree 100% Some people have forgotten Sony is the #1 console to have. Its not even about being a fan boy, Its just simply about stopping to think about it for a minute. PS3 is just the better system. Blu is better than HD DVD. Fact not opinion for all the statistic junkies out their. Anyway, the system u love is the system u love. In the mean time, GAME ON.

Resistance deserves to still be hanging onto the charts, it was a great game- which would have been reviewed much better if it wasn't a launch game.
