TGS 2008: Drums, Gundams, and Ninjas at Namco Bandai

Haven for anime fans with latest Gundam, Dragon Ball, and Naruto games playable; Wii represented by new We Ski and Taiko games.

TOKYO--Namco Bandai had one of the most pleasant booths to vist at the 2008 Tokyo Game Show, and not only because of the games that were on show. There was lots of free space here, with the megapublisher going for an open plan design in its booth, which allowed for better viewing of its large list of playable games.

Anime fans were well catered to. In one corner was the latest button-mashing Gundam epic, Gundam Musou 2 (the sequel to Dynasty Warriors Gundam), which is slated for release sometime in 2009. Inside the booth itself were plenty of playable units of Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm for the PS3, as well as Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World for the PS2. On the more casual side, Namco broke out the balance boards to allow the public to try out We Ski and Snowboard for the Nintendo Wii.

Sticking with the Wii, Namco had on show Taiko Drum Master Wii, complete with the small drum peripheral the game will ship with. The drum connects to the Wii Remote, but unfortunately there's no word yet on whether the game will be released internationally. Taiko Drum Master Wii will come out in Japan sometime in December.

dynasty warriors gundam 2 thats gonna be so sick, the last one wasn't very good at the whole flying ideă but they captured the entire army idea which was perfect with all the enemies which related to an actual war lets hope that this has great hype and lives up to it

Taiko no Tatsujin Wii. The one game that made this year's TGS all worthwhile for me

i actually cant wait for DBZ IW, to me all the other DBZ games had the storylines right, but I always wished for extra mini games or side missions like the snake way run, or other things. Its just sad that such a great game couldnt have also been developed for the current gen systems as well. would have been nice to see on a 360 or ps3, but still def worth buying

I'd like Gundam Musou alot more if all the AI mobile suits moved around/attacked each other more. It needs to look more like a battle from the shows. Instead they just stand around waiting to get killed by the player.. like a zombie game.
