Apple Manufactures 10 Millionth iPhone

applelogo1.jpg

Apple had a goal of selling 10 million iPhones within a given time period.

At the very least, they've made them.

According to the Apple Core, a group of analysts collecting data on International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) numbers determined that Apple has sold eight million iPhone handsets given the data collected. Given this pace, Apple was on pace to build its 10 millionth iPhone before the end of September.

The 10 millionth iPhone may have already rolled off the assembly line as the latest IMEI data collected was 9,190,680 units created, placing 3G iPhone sales at 7.6 million units and total iPhone sales at over 10 million units.

Even if this is a milestone, there may still be some hesitancy and lack of fanfare from Apple, as these are still just manufacturing numbers as opposed to sales numbers (which don’t take into effect Apple and AT&T store inventory, display/demo and replacement units).

Stay tuned for more details as they become available and let us know your opinion over in the comments or forums.
